Based on the attending physician’s decision, patients may be referred from Eastern Health Cluster facilities to an appropriate healthcare provider, either within or outside the cluster, through the Unified Referral System of the Saudi Center for Appointments and Medical Referrals. This process is carried out in accordance with the approved agreements and contracts with external hospitals.

The Medical Referrals Department at the referring facility manages the entire referral process to ensure a smooth and timely transfer of care.

• If you wish to be referred to another facility, follow these steps:

  Step 1 – Send your request to:

  Step 2 – Required documents:

  • A recent medical report (in English)
  • A copy of your ID or Iqama
  • A valid mobile number

  Step 3 – Review and approval:

  • Your request will be reviewed by specialized staff
  • If approved, the referral will be submitted through the national system
  • You’ll receive a text message with your referral number and status updates

  Final approval details will also be shared via SMS

To ensure a smooth and successful referral, please provide the following:

• National ID or Iqama
• Active mobile number
• Recent medical report (in English)
• Relevant lab results, radiology reports, or diagnostic tests (if available)
• Insurance details (if available)
